Senior Programme Officer

As a Senior Programme Officer at Barclays, you will be responsible for managing Execution Risk effectively, delivering on our Group strategy, and satisfying all our stakeholders. Programme Management Office (PMO) colleagues ensure initiative delivery is managed in line with the relevant Policies and Standards, using standard processes and tooling to improve the level and likelihood of successful outcomes. You will also help to ensure all stakeholders are aware of initiative progress and have the information they need to make the right decisions in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage programmes and projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, time, and budget.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management, providing clear updates and strategic insights.
  • Monitor project performance, including tracking of project progress, identification of risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, and creation of reports on project status to senior management.
  • Support project documentation, including maintenance of project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensuring that project documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Facilitate project governance, ensuring that projects are aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives, and that project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies are managed effectively.
  • Provide change management framework training to project managers and other stakeholders, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver successful projects.
  • Continuous improvement of project management practices, including identification of areas for improvement and implementation of changes to improve project delivery.

Vice President Expectations:

  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
