About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our team as a College Community Support Officer at Greater Brighton Metropolitan College.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first response to incidents across the College site, utilizing de-escalation techniques and restorative justice.
  • Assist Managers or College staff in adopting a collaborative problem-solving approach to highlighted issues.
  • Act as Safeguarding Officer for assigned cases, gathering evidence in relation to incidents and disclosures.
  • Develop and coordinate activities promoting social cohesion and integration among students and staff.
  • Deliver training in the workplace, leveraging experience in Further Education.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults, including Prevent and the Equality Act 2010.
  • Utilize Microsoft applications, including databases, to support College operations.

Requirements

  • GCSE maths and English Language, or equivalent, at C/4 grade or above.
  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area, such as Coaching, Health and Social Care, or Youth Work.
  • First Aid Certificate and Door Supervisors certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with young people, vulnerable adults, and those with challenging behavior.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including databases.
