Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Large SEN school in Darwen. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils aged 11-18 who have experienced difficulties in mainstream settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a warm and supportive relationship with pupils to promote a sense of safety and well-being.
  • Promote independence and personal development in pupils, maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.
  • Contribute to providing high-quality educational activities and experiences, supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Support the Class Teacher in the day-to-day running of the class.
  • Respond to the varying needs of the school, adapting to tasks to ensure the smooth running of the school.
  • Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
  • Under the guidance of a senior TA or teacher, ensure accurate documentation of incidents, health, behaviour, etc.
Requirements:
  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification is essential.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge or experience of working with pupils with SEN.
Directions:

The school is located in Darwen, and the successful candidate will need to be able to drive and have access to their own vehicle. There will be parking on site.
