About the Role:Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Direction: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the History department, aligning with the school's overall vision and educational goals.
  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging History curriculum that fosters a love of learning and critical thinking.
  • Teacher Support: Oversee the work of History teachers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Learning Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and a deep understanding of historical events.
  • Historical Literacy: Promote the importance of historical literacy and its relevance to contemporary issues.
The Ideal Candidate:Key Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status: Possesses a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in History or a closely related discipline.
  • Passion for History: Demonstrates a strong passion for History and a proven track record of success in leading and developing History programs.
  • Leadership Skills: Excels in leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and collaboration.
  • Curriculum Expertise: Has a deep understanding of the National Curriculum for History and the ability to create innovative and engaging learning experiences.
