Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at First Base. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining all company plant and equipment in a good and safe working order.
  • You will ensure compliance with legal requirements and liaise with insurance inspectors as necessary.
  • You will maintain up-to-date registers and lists related to equipment and plant.
  • You will be responsible for testing fire alarms and emergency lighting at designated times.
  • You will ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • You will be aware of and comply with the company's environmental policy and procedures.
  • You will investigate and mitigate manufacturing challenges with equipment, implementing short- and long-term plans as necessary.
  • You will work with the Logistics Manager and Chief Maintenance Engineer to plan and schedule repairs.
  • You will provide regular KPI updates and reports as agreed upon in the BIC meeting.
  • You will assist the Development Team with projects, such as oil systems and roller boxes.
  • You will oversee staff workload and conduct regular appraisals.

Requirements:

  • Engineering experience, particularly in press design and construction.
  • Fabrication skills.
  • Electrical knowledge, preferably with 18th Edition certification.
  • Maintenance records must be kept up-to-date.
  • PPM and breakdown maintenance reports must be maintained.
