Job Description

The BLW Recruitment LTD is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join their busy Catering team in Cambridge. This is a full-time, permanent position that will play a vital role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for the college community.

About the Role:

  • We are offering a competitive salary of £33,000 - £35,000 per annum.
  • This role will assist in the development and delivery of all meals in the College, ensuring high-quality dishes are served to students, staff, Fellows, and guests.
  • You will work closely with the Head Chef to source locally produced products and maintain the highest standards of food production and service.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Liaise with the kitchen manager on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
  2. Ensure all food production meets College standards and customer satisfaction levels are consistently high.
  3. Organize the food service area to ensure correct portions are served at all times.
  4. Minimize waste and adhere to Health and Safety regulations.
  5. Attend regular meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a catering environment, preferably in a senior role.
  • Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
