We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer.
About the RoleThis is a part-time position of 15 hours per week, working from home with occasional attendance at meetings in the Parish Rooms. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the council's administration and services, including:
- Managing council meetings, agendas, and minutes
- Preparing correspondence and filing
- Compiling accounts and fulfilling the statutory role of Responsible Financial Officer
- Undertaking research and advising the council
- Carrying out other duties as required
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in local government administration, be IT literate, and have a strong understanding of legislation relevant to the parish sector.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of local government legislation and procedures
- Ability to work flexibly and manage competing priorities
