Aircraft Material Handler Job Description

**Job Summary**

CV-Library is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Aircraft Material Handler to join our team. As an Aircraft Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the receipt, storage, and distribution of aircraft materials and tooling meet the operational and maintenance requirements in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Material Receipt and Storage: Transact aircraft materials and tools by current technical procedures and processes, ensuring accurate and efficient receipt and storage.
  2. Inventory Management: Maintain good storekeeping practices and quality standards at a high level at all times, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing stock discrepancies.
  3. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health & safety, environment, and quality legislation, as well as adherence to company policies and procedures.
  4. Training and Development: Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements and participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  5. Expertise and Support: Provide expertise about Dangerous Goods & Road Transportation regulations, as well as support for colleagues on related matters.
  6. Material Distribution: Ensure the timely and accurate distribution of aircraft materials and tooling to meet operational and maintenance requirements.

Shift Patterns:

On average, 40 hours a week, with a mix of day and night shifts, including:

Days: 06:45 am - 06:45 pm, 4 on / 4 off

Nights: 06:45 pm - 06:45 am, 4 on / 4 off

Salary and Benefits:

Basic salary: £26,138

Weekly Shift Pay - Days: £85.66

Weekly Shift Pay - Nights: £189.57

Person Specification:

  1. A full UK manual driving license with no more than 3 points (desirable).
  2. Although full training is provided, previous manual handling and teamwork experience is desirable.
  3. Have no unspent criminal convictions - If you are successful at the interview, you will be required to apply for a Criminal Record Check.
  4. Counter Balance Forklift licence (preferable).
  5. 5-year checkable history (employment, self-employment, education, or benefit claim).
  6. Eligibility to work in the UK (UK Passport, EU Passport, Non-EU Passport & Visa, Biometric Residence Permit, UK Birth Certificate & (and British citizens only).
  7. Successful candidates will be required to pass driver medical and driving assessment.
