Job Title: Academic Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to support the Special Educational Needs (SEN) department at our welcoming school in the role of Academic Support Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Social Support: Establish warm and supportive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and engaged during their time at the school.
  2. Independence and Development: Promote independence and personal development in pupils, maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.
  3. Educational Support: Contribute to providing high-quality educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum, aiming for pupils to achieve their full potential.
  4. Adaptability: Respond to changing needs and adapt to tasks to ensure the smooth running of the school.
  5. Pupil Development: Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
  6. Teamwork: Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
Requirements:
  1. GCSE Maths and English qualification Grade 4(C) or above is essential.
  2. Adequate understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  3. Knowledge and experience of working with children, young people, or adults with additional needs is advantageous.
  4. Creative, resilient, and inspiring individuals who can thrive in a classroom environment.
