The Estée Lauder Companies is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to lead and join an experienced and committed team at Whitman Laboratories. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for managing and developing the Production functions of the Whitman Plant Manufacturing facility producing prestige brand products in creams, lotions and fine fragrance.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing a safe place of work for all employees, ensuring that Production and all of its processes are adhered to and compliant with all statutory requirements in terms of Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Ensuring awareness of and compliance with GMP and OTC.
  • Coaching, motivating and empowering the Production Management Team to deliver business objectives through a process of continuous and sustained improvement in the development of their own organisation.
  • Providing leadership and development of the Production Management Team.
  • Ensuring that all daily output requirements are met to the agreed cost and efficiency standards, whilst ensuring high quality, safe practices and a safe environment to work in.
  • Ensuring that Production optimises customer satisfaction through adherence to all global quality standards, as measured by minimising plant attributable customer complaints and elimination of quality alerts.
  • Managing overhead budgets in Production.
  • Ensuring Production performance against global Operational Key Performance Indicators such as Cost Efficiency, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, Plan adherence and Plant throughput and Plant utilization.
  • Ensuring that all company policies and procedures are adhered to and promoting best practice whenever there is an opportunity.
  • Continually developing and promoting strong harmonious employee relations.
  • Developing and growing employees in the Production organisation by ensuring that learning opportunities and succession planning strategies are provided and implemented.
  • Developing and communicating the local Production strategy, ensuring alignment to the Site and Supply Chain strategies.
  • Contributing to and participating in key site based initiatives as required.
  • Participating as required in regional and global initiatives such as the global manufacturing program, BBS roll out, and R&D interaction.

As a successful candidate, you will be an ambassador of the Estée Lauder vision and values, with a strong track record of leadership experience and excellent communication skills. You will have in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques, with good knowledge of Best Practices in Lean Manufacturing such as GMP, SMED, SPC, MTM, TPM, 5S, LEAN, VSM, VS, RACI. You will be analytical, entrepreneurial and organisational, with the ability to thrive in a busy and challenging production environment. You will also have strong problem solving skills, including situational analysis and producing written reports, and the ability to develop, implement and manage change in a manufacturing environment.
