Job Description:

  • Provide a comprehensive ophthalmic service, developing and helping run the cornea and external eye disease service while being a capable general ophthalmologist.
  • Proficiency in cataract surgery is essential, and a commitment to training is necessary.
  • Participate in the consultant on-call rota for emergency duties and provide reciprocal cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
  • Carry out teaching duties as required and actively participate in postgraduate medical education.
  • Contribute to the teaching and training of nursing staff and other healthcare professionals within the department and Trust.
