Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team at the Cardiff Office.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Heavy Goods Vehicles, ensuring they are safe and operational. This role requires a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify issues.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
  • Assemble and fabricate parts as necessary to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads as required during repairs (heavy lifting).
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
  • Ability to assemble components accurately and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems relevant to HGVs is advantageous.

Working Conditions

This opportunity offers a competitive salary between £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a variety of shifts available including days, split shifts and nights.
