Job Summary
COWI is seeking a highly skilled In-House Legal Counsel to join our Global Legal team. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert legal advice and support to our business operations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract review, negotiation, and management, including structuring, drafting, and negotiating international service contracts and joint venture agreements.
- Legal risk management, including general day-to-day legal assistance to operational management and project managers.
- Providing counsel in disputes and settlement negotiations, including instructing and supporting external counsel.
- Supporting line managers and senior management on various legal subjects, including contracts, claims management, and company due diligence.
- Improving and updating standard contract templates.
Requirements
- English law qualified solicitor with up to 5 years' post-qualified experience with a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel.
- Extensive contractual review and negotiation experience, with experience of reviewing and negotiating NEC and bespoke forms of agreements.
- Experience in identifying, supervising, and mitigating operational risk and opportunities.
- High-quality drafting skills and international experience.
- Extensive analytical skills, business orientation, and focus on providing solutions and results.
- Attention to detail and ability to communicate complex legal issues to internal and external stakeholders.
