Job Title: Digital Technical Advisor

Central Employment is delighted to be working with an established Newcastle-based digital agency, as they look to recruit a Technical SEO Consultant.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical SEO Consultant to join our team. As a Technical SEO Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering integrated digital marketing campaigns and working closely with the web and software development teams on new build projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to strategic discussions about how SEO can solve client business challenges and drive marketing performance.
  2. Carry out technical site audits, creating clear roadmaps and evidence-based strategies to deliver results for clients.
  3. Develop and implement link acquisition plans, including the identification of target sites, content opportunities, and content ideas.
  4. Carry out competitor analysis, backlink audits, keyword research, and other research projects as required.
  5. Give detailed site architecture and URL structure recommendations to the in-house development teams.
  6. Troubleshoot and debug roadblocks in search engines or users accessing content.
  7. Resolve complex indexation and crawlability issues.
  8. Stay abreast of developments and drive innovation in technical SEO best practice and share knowledge across the team.
  9. Develop new ways to improve, track, and monitor search performance.

Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office package.
  2. 2+ years within a dedicated Technical SEO role.
  3. A good understanding of SEO principles and Google best practices.
  4. Great knowledge of Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
  5. A working knowledge of how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript work together.
  6. A basic understanding of client-server behavior and the HTTP protocol.
  7. Good knowledge of website crawling tools, Screaming Frog and Deep Crawl.
  8. First-hand experience of using popular CMS, like WordPress.
