Electronic Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Design Engineer to join our team at Fuel Recruitment Limited. As an Electronic Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering innovative electronic design projects and associated test solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and document clear technical requirements through liaison with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in the planning and resource estimation of new design projects with associated validation testing solutions
  • Identify and document a clear plan for compliance with customer requirements, capturing associated costs and timescales
  • Create design concepts, schematics, and specifications, review packs, and validation strategies
  • Ensure all design changes are fully documented, approved, correctly released, and stored/archived
  • Carry out electronics cooling simulation modelling (training provided)
  • Participate in DFMEA design failure mode effects and analysis reviews
  • Work closely with production engineers to ensure design is optimized for manufacture
  • Identify product testing requirements needed throughout development and in manufacturing
  • Develop detailed validation testing procedures ensuring customer requirements are fully met with evidence, including test specifications for any subcontract testing
  • Work closely with other designers and manufacturing leads to identify manufacturing test solutions with optimal coverage and minimal cycle times at the lowest possible cost
  • Carry out verification and validation testing, and support factory acceptance testing
Requirements:
  • Electronics-related degree/HND – significant demonstrable experience may be considered in lieu
  • Proficient in the design of innovative, high-reliability, power-efficient electronic circuits for use in demanding environments
  • Good understanding of the principles of designing for success in EMC testing
  • Experience of working with various microcontrollers and microcode
  • Experience of designing circuits with JTAG interfaces
Desirable:
  • Experience of electronics cooling simulation software
  • Knowledge/experience of designing Intrinsically Safe circuits
  • Knowledge or experience of Automated Testing
  • Practical exposure to software programming
  • Experience of working with C++ and C for microcontrollers
