About the Role

Parker Smith Inclusion is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Redbridge. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of needs and challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Individualized Support: Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN) across all levels.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans: Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Collaborate with Teachers: Work with teachers to adapt and differentiate classroom activities to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Regularly monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as needed, ensuring students receive the support they need to reach their full potential.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEN and challenging behavior is highly desirable.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Patience and Empathy: Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people, with a willingness to undergo training and development opportunities.
