As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic support to students with SEMH needs, working closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning plans.
  • Support students in their social and emotional development, helping them to build resilience and engage with learning.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of educational health care plans, ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support students' holistic development, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, helping them to develop confidence and self-esteem.
  • Assist with managing challenging behaviors in a calm and constructive manner, ensuring the well-being of both students and staff.
About You
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or similar needs is desired but not essential.
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach is essential for this role, as you will be working with students who may be experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • The ability to manage challenging situations with confidence and resilience is crucial, as you will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as you will be working closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support students' development.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed is essential, as you will be making a real difference in the lives of our students.
