Wise Employment is seeking a highly experienced B1 Licensed Mechanical Engineer to fill a critical role in our Plymouth, Devon office. The estimated annual salary for this position is £48,000 - £58,000.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and purchasing processes. As a B1 Licensed Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for applying your expertise to the purchasing team to support new product introductions, drive cost reduction activities, and improve quality and risk management across the supply chain.

  • Engineering Knowledge: Apply mechanical engineering principles to the purchasing process, supporting NPIs and driving cost reduction activities.
  • Supply Chain Management: Identify and assess potential risks and threats, providing solutions to mitigate the highest risks.
  • Inventory Management: Implement strategies to reduce inventory levels and improve stock turnover.
Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and SAP.
