Clinical Lead Nurses play a vital role in leading, supporting, and facilitating the nursing and medical needs of service users with their commissioned care. This community-based role involves working with a number of care packages in your area, gaining an in-depth understanding of your clients and their needs and expectations. You will use your experience to ensure quality and compliance are maintained and exceeded, with support from regional nurses and the broader organisational frameworks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalised client-centred service outcomes, and carry out care assessments and writing care plans and managing competencies.
  • Maintain your own professional skills to your current level and undertake required training and development for personal professional development.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop individualised care plans in partnership with the service user, family and other health care professionals as appropriate, ensuring goals are patient-focused, realistic and achievable.
  • Undertake initial holistic nursing assessments in partnership with the Service User, family and carer and involving other statutory/voluntary/third 'party' sector providers where necessary.
  • Motivate and manage own nursing/care team, embedding the company's values and behaviours and a culture of 'pride' in their work.
  • Manage and support field-based care support workers and nurses through regular supervisions, competency assessments and appraisals.
  • Have a strong commitment to quality standards to ensure compliance to statutory, mandatory and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the rota's by ensuring that the field staff are appropriately trained, assessed and signed off as competent prior to lone working.

This role would suit someone looking to blend clinical nursing skills with coaching and management of people and services. Experience of working in the community would be ideal, with experience in tracheostomy, PEG and catheter care. The candidate should be happy working with both adults and children, and the NHS will provide any necessary training.
