Electrical Grid Development Trainee

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Lighting & Grid team as a Power Distribution Engineer Apprentice. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering efficient and sustainable energy solutions.
Job Summary:This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while earning qualifications over a four-year period:
- Earn a Level 2 Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering – Distribution & Transmission
- Gain Power Distribution Engineering Cable Jointing qualifications
You will spend most of your time out and about from your local depot, learning about all technical aspects of Lighting & Grid. You will also attend block release training programs to gain your formal qualifications including courses to provide trade skills such as plant operation and live electrical connections to the underground power distribution network.
This role is hands-on, so you'll need to be ready to work in site-based environments including public highway and construction sites.
Requirements:- A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C / 9-4 (or equivalent) including Maths, English Language and Science
- A real interest in engineering shown by your relevant work placements, studies, hobbies or projects
We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 per annum, plus benefits including 26 days holiday + bank holidays, a generous pension scheme, life cover, bonus and flexible benefits.
