Job Description

We are seeking a talented Optical Design Engineer to join our team at Renishaw's Spectroscopy Products Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and testing new cutting-edge Raman instrumentation, defining and conducting system and sample testing, and planning and conducting experiments as part of the instrument design process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the design team to develop and test new Raman instrumentation
  • Conduct system and sample testing to ensure optimal performance
  • Plan and conduct experiments to inform instrument design decisions
  • Develop technical content for marketing literature, including videos, webinars, and written materials

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of optical physics and/or Raman spectroscopy
  • Degree in physics or a relevant scientific discipline

Desirable Requirements:

  • MSc or PhD in Optics, Photonics, Physics, or Raman spectroscopy
  • Experience using Raman spectroscopy or other spectroscopy equipment and software

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
