We are seeking a skilled and motivated Theatre Practitioner to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our General Theatres department.
Job Summary
This role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness in all aspects of theatre practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, administering anaesthetics, and supporting surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of patients for surgery, including conducting pre-operative assessments and applying appropriate protocols
- Administer anaesthetics and other medications as required, ensuring accurate dosing and monitoring
- Support surgical procedures by maintaining equipment, supplies, and sterile environments
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to theatre practice
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with relevant qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and patients
- Familiarity with trust policies, procedures, and guidelines related to theatre practice
