Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in a special school in Bridgend, supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will be patient, knowledgeable about Autism, and able to tailor approaches to each individual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and general classroom support to students with ASD
  • Assist teachers with tasks and foster relationships with all students in the class
  • Recognize and respond to sensory sensitivities, such as aversion to bright lights or loud noises

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with ASD (preferred but not essential)
  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and its varied needs
  • Adaptable and patient approach
  • Additional specialized training related to ASD or SEN support (beneficial)
