About the Role

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team within the Older Peoples' Mental Health Inpatient Ward in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist assessments and treatments as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Occupational Therapy and expertise, providing specialist Occupational Therapy interventions underpinned by the Model of Human Occupation and the principles of recovery.
  • Provide Occupational Therapy assessments, advice, and interventions to support patients to engage in occupational activity and increase function.
  • Act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients, who may have complex needs, including patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, including dementia.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and effective delivery of patient-focused care in line with identified evidence-based practice, local, and national standards.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to assure a high standard of care for service users and their relatives/carers.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapy bachelor-level qualification
  • HCPC registered OT
  • Experience of developing a therapeutic timetable of interventions that would meet the needs of this client group
  • Able to develop effective therapeutic relationships with people with mental health problems and their carers
  • Ability to plan, manage, and prioritise own workload with an MDT
