Job Summary

Lipson Lloyd-Jones is seeking a skilled Claims Defence Lawyer to join our market-leading Local Government Practice.

About the Role

As a Claims Defence Lawyer, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload and assisting senior fee earners on their cases. Your primary focus will be on defending claims on behalf of local authorities and their insurers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of pre-litigated and litigated claims, including Highways Law, Occupiers Liability, Employers Liability, and Housing disrepair.
  • Assist senior fee earners on their cases and contribute to the development of the Local Government Practice.
  • Develop and maintain excellent knowledge of the CPR and litigation procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law relevant to the role.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous claims handling experience and a genuine interest in the area of work.
  • Excellent knowledge of the CPR and litigation procedures.
  • Ability to influence a broad range of people, including key decision-makers.
  • Excellent IT, written, and communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organisation skills.
