About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Virology Specialist to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care to patients with infection-related problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement diagnostic virology and microbiology assays, including molecular assays
  • Manage patients with complex infection problems, including those with immunocompromised conditions
  • Participate in the training of clinical staff and contribute to the development of our training programme
  • Collaborate with other consultants to deliver a comprehensive infection service and contribute to the organisation, management, and delivery of our services

Person Specification

  • FRCPath or equivalent qualification
  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Virology or Infectious Diseases and Virology

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognised management qualification
  • Higher research degree or experience
  • Recognised teaching qualification
