Job Summary:

The Compositor is a key member of the Visual Effects team at Industrial Light & Magic, responsible for combining live action and computer-generated elements into stunning visual effects shots.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate creative and technical approaches for assigned shots in collaboration with the Compositing Supervisor and Visual Effects Supervisor.
  • Perform tasks associated with the compositing process, including 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering of elements, and color grading on moderately difficult to difficult shots.
  • Maintain the overall look, color balance, and quality for assigned shots and sequences to ensure uniformity in all finished work.
  • Collaborate with Artists from other disciplines to achieve a cohesive visual effect.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Computer Graphics or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Nuke, with experience in writing scripts and/or plugins a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of color theory and aesthetic principles.
  • Familiarity with Unix systems.

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 2 days on-site per week at a Company designated location, with occasional remote work.
