Job Title: Retail Transformation Director

McCarthy Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Transformation Director to lead our client's retail operations in the Falkland Islands. This is a unique opportunity to relocate to a beautiful archipelago and take on a challenging role that requires strong leadership skills and a proven track record of driving change.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all aspects of retail operations, including managing a team of store managers, developing and implementing strategic plans, and driving sales growth. They will also be responsible for working closely with the Procurement Director and other staff to ensure that all stores have the correct product assortment and product availability to achieve sales goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to management teams to ensure that each store or department functions efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement creative marketing campaigns and strategies to promote products and drive sales.
  • Work closely with the Retail Director to monitor and analyse sales performance and identify opportunities to improve operations.
  • Bring best practice in retail operations to ensure that our client outperforms its rivals.
  • Monitor and measure retail's overall performance against predetermined goals to ensure that all objectives are met.
  • Support the development of retail budgets and ensure that costs are controlled while generating enough revenues to meet set objectives and goals.
  • Ensure that operational standards remain consistent across all stores.
  • Partner closely with Procurement Director and other staff to ensure that all stores have the correct product assortment and product availability to achieve sales goals.
  • Promote efficient communication and foster high morale, enthusiasm, and teamwork among staff.
  • Work with the Retail Director to ensure appropriate staffing levels are in place across all stores, partners with Human Resources to identify, attract and retain the best available talent both internally and externally.
  • Develop and lead the Retail Modernisation Programme across the Retail Division, designing implementation plans which address customer, technology, logistic and people challenges.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of those plans, modifying content and direction as required.
  • Report on progress of the plan to the Senior Leadership Team including to FIH Group as required.
Requirements
  • Willing to relocate to the Falkland Islands.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven change management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of retail software applications including POS systems.
  • People management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate productively and ability to lead and influence in a team environment.
  • Agility and with an entrepreneurial spirit, finding new approaches and solutions to the challenges of this role.
  • Business acumen, numerical agility and forward-thinking.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs.
  • Driving License.
