About the role:

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments for individuals accessing our services, identifying areas of need and ensuring appropriate referrals to primary or secondary healthcare services.
  • Develop and implement harm reduction strategies, including education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBV), and provide Hepatitis B vaccinations as indicated.
  • Contribute to our Naloxone Strategy by training staff and service users in its use and ensuring its distribution to service users.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with individuals struggling with substance misuse, fostering effective partnerships and promoting recovery.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and evidence-based guidelines, ensuring our procedures align with UK clinical management standards, NICE guidance, and CGL protocols.
  • Provide harm reduction advice and support to injecting service users, ensuring safe equipment disposal.
  • Maintain accurate records and input client data, ensuring compliance with contractual, administrative, and financial requirements.
About You:
  • Registered nurse with recent relevant experience and a current PIN.
  • Experience working in drug and alcohol treatment is desirable but not essential.
  • Sound knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
  • Ability to assess and recovery plan service users, formulate written reports as needed.
  • Clinical auditing skills to inform service evaluation and identify areas for development.
  • Professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude towards service users and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of professional integrity in relationships with service users, peers, and other professionals.
