Job Overview

Babcock International, a century-old defense company, seeks a skilled Commercial Specialist to join its Bristol site. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in the Nuclear Commercial Strategy function, positioning Babcock as a key strategic partner with the Ministry of Defence (MOD).

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute individual to provide expertise and governance to internal stakeholders in the development of proposals and functional reviews. As a Commercial Specialist, you will be responsible for providing innovative and pragmatic commercial solutions in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial expertise and governance to internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with overall project objectives.
  • Promote and maintain compliance with commercial policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Support in the identification of contractual risk, quantification, and mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience in contract and bid management, ideally gained within the UK Defence market.
  • Knowledge of commercial terms and types of agreements.
  • Experienced in UK MOD contracting methods and strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Salary: £45,000 - £51,941 per annum (dependent on experience)

This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week, requiring regular travel to Bristol on a weekly basis alongside home working arrangements. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
