About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Project Engineering Lead to join our team at Leonardo, a global leader in Aerospace, Defence and Security. As a Project Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers to deliver a cutting-edge Electronic Warfare (EW) System for a 6th generation Combat Aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver the EW System solution, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Provide engineering management, direction, and leadership to the team, supported by the Project Chief Engineer and Project Engineering Manager.
  • Develop and implement engineering plans, ensuring consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to elicit and prioritize requirements, ensuring the design solution meets customer needs.
  • Oversee the completion of engineering plans to quality, cost, and schedule, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Project Chief Engineer to ensure the design solution maximizes the reuse of existing resources, is producible, and is robust.
  • Work closely with the Project Engineering Manager to identify technical risks and mitigation strategies, ensuring effective project configuration and change management.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in engineering management and delivery of projects, with a strong track record of success.
  • Experience of systems engineering and systems integration, with a deep understanding of EW systems and their applications.
  • Knowledge of engineering lifecycle processes, including design, development, testing, and validation.
  • Strong leadership competencies, with the ability to provide clear direction to teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Good schedule and budget control, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise engineering documentation, with a strong attention to detail.
