Community Development Officer

About the Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Community Development Officer to join our team in South East Wales. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering community engagement initiatives that promote literacy and numeracy skills among disadvantaged groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement community outreach programs to engage hard-to-reach populations
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to build partnerships and leverage resources
- Design and deliver workshops, training sessions, and events to support community development
- Recruit and manage volunteers, as well as project participants
- Maintain accurate records and reports on program progress and outcomes
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in community development, volunteer management, and project coordination
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- A strong understanding of the needs and challenges facing disadvantaged communities
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Welsh language and culture is desirable
What We Offer:
In return for your skills and experience, we offer a competitive salary of £28,000 per year pro rata (0.7 FTE) / £19,600 per year, plus benefits including:
- Generous leave allowance totaling 39 days (including bank holidays and office closure)
- Pension contributions of 8% of annual salary
- Cycle to work scheme and other health and wellbeing benefits
