Job Title: Clinical Charge Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Charge Nurse to join our team in the acute and crisis directorate. As a Clinical Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for promoting and developing clinical leadership and clinical practice, and providing a positive role model to junior members of the team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Leading and supporting junior staff to deliver person-centred care.
  • Formulating and documenting a plan of nursing care in partnership with service users, carers, family, and friends.
  • Evaluating and documenting the outcomes of nursing interventions.
  • Providing personal care, nutrition, and hydration to service users.
  • Leading and supporting junior staff to promote recovery and risk assess and risk manage.
  • Undertaking individual risk assessments and preventing and managing aggression and violence.
  • Recognising service user health deterioration and taking action.
  • Reporting incidents and implementing safe and therapeutic observations policy levels.
  • Leading on safeguarding and duty of candour procedures.
Requirements:
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse and/or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse Mentorship qualification.
  • Mentorship Training or practice assessor.
  • Leadership Training.
  • Experience in working within a mental health setting with adults with acute mental illness.
  • Experience of implementing quality Improvement projects and sound knowledge of QI methodology.
Working Environment:

The post operates on a shift rota system, including weekends and night work. You will receive staff induction, in-house training, frequent supervision, and personal development reviews.
