About the Role

Gartner is seeking a highly skilled Principal Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our network operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our conferences IT platforms and enterprise network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the network operations team to optimize and maintain the high performance and reliability of the network infrastructure.
  • Work closely with the Observability team to maintain and improve dashboard and alerting posture.
  • Monitor operational dashboards and alerts during conferences and respond to alerts.
  • Develop and execute chaos test cases to simulate real-world scenarios and identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Utilize NPM tools to drive forensics on network performance and reliability issues.
  • Collaborate with the Conference Network team and Enterprise Network team to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the systems and infrastructure.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of information technology experience, with a desired 7+ years in a relevant network performance engineering role.
  • Deep understanding of AWS/Azure cloud, on-prem, and network-related services.
  • Proficiency in network packets analysis and NPM tools like Extrahop, Riverbed AppResponse, LiveAction, etc.
  • Experience working with Network Monitoring tools like PRTG, Solarwinds, etc.
  • Exceptional analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative and determination.
