Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream primary school in Maida Vale. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students with special educational needs, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons to support SEND students.
  • Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO.
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support to students, promoting their well-being and positive engagement in school activities.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding students.
