Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and qualified SEN Lead to join our team at Academics. As a SEN Lead, you will be responsible for leading a 'nurture' class in a mainstream primary school, assisting with the progress of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the 'nurture' class alongside 5-6 teaching assistants, delivering lessons and interventions to children with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver the national curriculum in the 'nurture' class and assist with daily integration into mainstream lessons.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO to ensure the children's needs are being met, and work with outside organizations such as Speech & Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.
  • Hold the HLTA qualification or equivalent, and have experience working with SEN or delivering lessons in a primary or SEN setting.
  • Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum is essential.
