Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our partner primary schools in Derby. As a key member of the teaching team, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education and care to students. If you have a strong foundation in educational practices, enjoy working with individuals and small groups, and are passionate about making a positive impact on students' academic and emotional development, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons, offering tailored support to individuals and small groups.
  • Help foster an inclusive, positive learning environment that encourages active participation and mutual respect.
  • Provide one-on-one support, reinforce lesson concepts, and assist students with independent work.
  • Collaborate with the teacher to implement strategies for students with special educational needs (SEN) or learning difficulties.
  • Monitor, record, and report on student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
  • Support classroom management, promoting positive behaviour and consistent expectations.
  • Contribute to planning and preparation of resources to meet student needs.
  • Offer pastoral care and emotional support, ensuring the social and emotional well-being of all students.
  • Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff to support overall progress.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of students by always adhering to safeguarding policies.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or similar role is highly desirable.
  • Passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of young learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Sound knowledge of teaching strategies and educational practices.
  • Understanding of special educational needs, with the ability to implement support strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the teaching team and follow instructions.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage classroom resources and activities effectively.
  • Willingness to undergo necessary background checks, including a DBS check.
