About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist in Diabetes to join our team in a part-time permanent position. The successful applicant will have a strong background in diabetes clinical assessment and intervention, with excellent communication skills and experience in patient and staff education.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-established Community Service with close links to primary and secondary care. The successful applicant will be committed to the ongoing development of the service and will have a strong understanding of service improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree or equivalent experience, with a strong knowledge of clinical specialty and service improvement. They will also have experience of working in a multi-professional environment and managing a ward/area/department.

We are committed to supporting our staff to fully embrace the need for bilingualism, and the successful applicant will be able to work in Welsh (Level 1). The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Check.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert level of knowledge in diabetes clinical assessment and intervention
  • Develop and implement service improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with primary and secondary care teams to ensure seamless care
  • Provide education and training to staff and patients
  • Contribute to the development of the Community Service
