Job Title: SEN Maths TeacherAbout The Role

The Aurora Group is an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people, and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.

We are currently looking for a passionate, inspirational, and engaging SEN Maths teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning to children and young people with SEMH and other complex or anxiety-related needs.

As part of our growth strategy, we have recently opened a brand new ASC/SEMH school, Wilden View School in Kidderminster, for students aged between 5-16.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical, and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
  2. Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  3. Maintain and use short, medium, and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum.
  4. Set, monitor, and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual.
  5. Monitor, assess, review, and report on the progress and work of students to parents, team members, senior staff, examination, and funding bodies through reports and identified meetings as directed and as is required through school policies and procedures.
  6. Maintain knowledge through training and research where appropriate and take responsibility for own professional development.
  7. Develop lesson plans analysing and self-reflecting on the outcomes.
  8. Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
Requirements

We are looking for a teacher who:

  1. Has a PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status, or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
  2. Has experience of working in a special school environment and/or in particular with pupils with SEMH or ASC needs or significant SEND, SEMH, and/or ASC teaching experience within a mainstream environment.
  3. Has experience of delivering up to GCSE in their subject.
