Data Migration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Specialist to join our Integration team at Penguin Random House UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing a robust data migration framework and managing data migrations to support our business and project teams.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Integration Team to align data migration activities with overall integration strategies and objectives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data migration strategy to ensure seamless transitions.
- Create standardized packages to extract, transform, and load data from legacy systems, preferably using Azure Data Factory.
- Support future requirements for accessing legacy data.
- Manage and execute smaller data migrations for our Technology teams.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to additional migration resources to ensure project success.
- Document specifications, business processes, methodologies, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across Technology.
- Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of migrated data.
- Build a data migration asset register, validations, and reconciliation processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in data migration activities.
- Work closely with various functional, business leads, and testing teams.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including project managers and application owners, to ensure alignment and transparency.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Migration Specialist who is proficient in ETL using SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, and Stored Procedures. You should have a strong background in data governance principles and data quality assurance. Additionally, you should be skilled in creating data validation tools, templates, and documentation.
