Gi Group is seeking an experienced Apprenticeship Skills Tutor to join our client in Worksop. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching and assessing apprentices on Fabrication and Welding courses, helping to develop the next generation of engineers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support learners to provide evidence on behaviours, underpinning knowledge, work-based skills, learning, and overall progress for each apprentice.
  • Provide coaching and skills support through developmental feedback to ensure successful timely completion of End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Conduct regular tripartite reviews with the apprentice line manager/mentor and apprentice to successfully complete timely EPA.
  • Support the development and progression of a caseload of apprentices through onsite workplace visits in the creation of showcase evidence such as observations, professional discussions, witness testimonies, projects, presentations, and any further evidence to support EPA requirements, this evidence will be documented within the e-portfolio OneFile.
  • Highlight and document any operational issues to the line manager which may affect learner progression as appropriate.
  • Set achievable tasks and provide support throughout the apprentice journey including assisting the apprentice to be prepared for any functional skills assessments.
  • Support employers in understanding and documenting their responsibilities relating to on and off-job training requirements of the apprentice.
  • Provide pastoral support to apprentices as required including on and off the job training/e-portfolio usage and any additional support needs.
Requirements:
  • Experience in assessing within Apprenticeship Standards.
  • Vocationally relevant qualification at level 3 or above.
  • An A1/V1 Assessors Award.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Knowledge of current apprenticeship standards.
  • Understanding of End Point Assessments.
  • UK drivers' licence and access to own vehicle for work.
