Job Title: Apprenticeship Skills Tutor

Gi Group is seeking an experienced Apprenticeship Skills Tutor to join our team. As an Apprenticeship Skills Tutor, you will play a crucial role in developing the next generation of engineers through coaching, assessing, and supporting apprentices on Fabrication and Welding courses.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To support learners in providing evidence on behaviours, underpinning knowledge, work-based skills, learning, and overall progress for each apprentice.
  • To provide coaching and skills support through developmental feedback to ensure successful timely completion of End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • To conduct regular tripartite reviews with the apprentice line manager/mentor and apprentice to successfully complete timely EPA.
  • To support the development and progression of a caseload of apprentices through onsite workplace visits in the creation of showcase evidence such as observations, professional discussions, witness testimonies, projects, presentations, and any further evidence to support EPA requirements, this evidence will be documented within the e-portfolio OneFile.
  • To highlight and document any operational issues to the line manager which may affect learner progression as appropriate.
  • To set achievable tasks and provide support throughout the apprentice's journey.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in coaching and assessing apprentices in a fabrication and welding environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and EPA requirements.
  • Ability to provide developmental feedback and coaching to support learner progression.
