Job Title: SEN Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Coordinator to join our specialist education college and separate school in Ferndown, Dorset.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing children aged 11-16 for adult life, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain strong working relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactive EHCP Management: Stay on top of EHCP documentation, identifying and addressing issues to ensure smooth processes.
  • Accurate Data Handling: Collect and present precise data required for School quality assessments, working closely with the team.
  • Support for 'At-Risk' Pupils: Assist Heads of Education/School in identifying students who may be at risk, offering timely support.
  • Objective Setting and Review: Support teachers, therapy specialists, and care teams in setting relevant and meaningful EHCP objectives, and ensure they complete necessary reviews on time.
  • Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and the processes surrounding Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Experience in SEN Settings: Proven experience working within a specialist SEN school or college environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong typing accuracy and precision in record-keeping.
  • Knowledge and awareness of safeguarding practices for children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
