About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Academy Finance Officer to join our team at Penderels Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and update customer account information, ensuring accuracy and consistency with finance reports.
  • Process timesheets, annual leave, and bank holiday rates in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process invoices for services provided, maintaining excellent relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Input new customer information for payroll services, adhering to strict data protection protocols.
  • Resolve queries effectively, providing clear and concise communication to all parties involved.
  • Calculate and process funds for local authorities and other funding bodies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in finance or accounting, with a strong understanding of financial procedures and regulations.
  • Accurate data record-keeping skills, with the ability to maintain detailed and up-to-date records.
  • Effective workload management, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with experience in using financial software packages.
  • Excellent telephone manner, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with customers and stakeholders.
  • Teamwork and initiative, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take ownership of projects.
  • Flexibility and deadline management, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English and Maths; bookkeeping or accounting qualification desirable.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £23,088 per annum, plus benefits including hybrid working arrangements and opportunities for professional development.

Working Hours and Location

The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. The location is Hartlepool, TS24 7QT.
