The Role - What We're Looking For
We are seeking ambitious and highly motivated Project Managers/Scheme Interface Managers with experience in the rail infrastructure sector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the operational railway and railway infrastructure, as well as experience in delivering projects in the rail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver solutions for externally funded, high-value projects in the rail sector, ensuring seamless integration with the operational railway.
- Manage the interface with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with governance and assurance processes.
- Interrogate client remits and programmes to provide clarity on operational railway interface requirements.
- Liaise with Construction Design Management (CDM) clients and other duty holders to establish principles for project compliance with the CDM Regulations.
- Support the interface with projects to secure and allocate resources, ensuring delivery in compliance with processes and procedures.
- Assist in facilitating agreement between parties to identify proposers for infrastructure changes.
- Monitor and analyze risk and performance over the project lifecycle.
- Review lessons learned and develop mitigation strategies with stakeholders.
- Provide support to accident, incident, and close call events.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders and manage expectations.
- Identify and progress opportunities to reduce asset and maintenance liabilities.
- Assist in facilitating full recovery of costs in accordance with legal agreements.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Membership (or working towards membership) of the Association for Project Management.
- PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of the operational railway and railway infrastructure.
- Demonstrable experience of delivery of projects in the rail environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Team player able to quickly build relationships and share knowledge.
- Demonstrable ability to constructively challenge ideas and make decisions.
- Understanding of project commercial requirements and programme controls.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements and legislation.
- Knowledge and experience of project budget management.
