Job Title: Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Nicholas Associates. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and optimising process plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop process plant and equipment, including core process equipment and balance of plant.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Director to create design concepts and specifications for vendors.
  • Perform engineering calculations to ensure specifications are met and select suitable suppliers.
  • Liaise with vendors and assist with assembly of plant.
  • Maintain design files and lead on fault/non-conformance investigations.

Requirements:

  • A degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven engineering design and development experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with cutting-edge technology.
  • Experience with relevant software packages, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD 3D.
  • ATEX understanding and experience generating CE/UKCA files.

  • Able to write concise technical documents.
