Pasta Evangelists Limited is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing high-quality food while adhering to health and safety regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up the kitchen, maintaining par levels of prepared pasta sauces and ingredients, ensuring food is prepared to the highest standard, and adhering to health and safety regulations. They will also maintain a clean and organized kitchen, monitor food availability, document food information, and record stock rotation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Kitchen Setup: Setting up the kitchen and maintaining par levels of prepared pasta sauces and ingredients.
  • Food Preparation: Ensuring food is prepared to the highest standard and adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Monitoring food availability and informing team leaders.
  • Record Keeping: Documenting food information and recording stock rotation.

Additionally, the successful candidate will ensure equipment is maintained, food is prepared quickly and efficiently, check deliveries, report issues, and store items appropriately. They will also operate the wash-up area effectively, dispose of rubbish correctly, and report equipment defects.

To be successful in this role, you will require knowledge of safe food handling, storage, and preparation techniques. Familiarity with basic culinary techniques, such as chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients, is also essential. We are looking for individuals who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.

You will need to have a meticulous and detail-oriented approach to food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen organization. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team are also essential. Adaptability to changing situations, work schedules, and tasks in a dynamic kitchen environment is crucial.

Salary: £20,000 - 25,000 per annum, depending on experience.
