Job Title: Specialist Study Skills Tutor

Beacon Support Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Study Skills Tutor to join our team. As a Specialist Study Skills Tutor, you will work one-to-one with Higher Education students who require support with their studies due to Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

About the Role:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with ASC, helping them develop learning strategies and study skills to improve their academic performance.
  • Work with students to create Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and act as facilitators to help them develop independent learning skills.
  • Support students with memory, organisational, attention, and numeracy difficulties, as well as difficulties with written and spoken language.
  • Collaborate with the support manager to ensure students receive the best possible support.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Experience of working with students with ASC on a one-to-one basis.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and related AT study skills strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify different strategies to enable students to build on their learning strengths.
