About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Public Sector management consultant to join our growing team at the Assistant Director level, with a specific focus on the Defence & Security sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a wide range of public sector clients in the UK and internationally on their most complex real estate-related challenges.

This role will involve working in a stimulating and challenging environment with like-minded people who are at the forefront of their chosen field. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in a range of technical areas, including strategy definition, transformation programmes, operating model design, assurance, and distressed situations. You will also work in a highly reputable business consulting environment, advising clients at executive management level to help them solve their most complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

Support the development and growth of the business by building and sustaining client relationships.
Develop business opportunities and manage client engagements, including managing diverse teams and promoting an inclusive team culture.
Bring Public Sector consulting expertise to your work and clients, including an understanding of the Public Sector and how it operates, managing associated stakeholder environments and business case and approval processes.
Take a lead on developing others in the team, across both technical and consulting skills.
Collaborate in developing thought leadership and external eminence for the team.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Public Sector management consultant with excellent interpersonal skills and experience of building and owning senior client relationships. You will have a strong analytical mind and significant demonstrable experience of using qualitative and quantitative insight to design solutions to challenges. You will also have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to write clear, concise reports.

You will have project management experience and the ability to understand key risks to successful delivery and potential paths to resolve/mitigate. You will also have excellent people management skills and experience in building, developing, and leading diverse, effective teams, fostering an environment of learning, inclusion, and support.

Requirements

Experience of working for a major consulting firm in a client-facing role or of an estates-focussed managerial-level role within the public sector.
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of building and owning senior client relationships.
Strong analytical skills and significant demonstrable experience of using qualitative and quantitative insight to design solutions to challenges.
Project management experience and the ability to understand key risks to successful delivery and potential paths to resolve/mitigate.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to write clear, concise reports.
Excellent people management skills and experience in building, developing, and leading diverse, effective teams, fostering an environment of learning, inclusion, and support.
