About the Role

Aquent is seeking an experienced and professional Strategic Public Sector Marketing Lead to join one of the largest telecommunications companies in the UK. This role offers a unique opportunity to spearhead marketing initiatives within the public sector, playing a vital role in shaping public affairs strategies, engagement, campaigns, and communications efforts with government entities and industry bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve defined OKRs related to public sector engagement, media coverage, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with government officials, industry leaders, and media contacts.
  • Deliver effective public affairs strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and regulatory environment.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the CMO, General Counsel, and Director of Property.
  • Create and execute game-changing marketing campaigns to increase share of voice and brand consideration and engagement for both policy influencing, meetings, and lead generation/consultation opportunities.
  • Plan and execute public sector events and parliamentary events, conferences, and roundtables to strengthen presence and thought leadership in the industry.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  2. Extensive experience in public sector marketing, public relations, or public affairs.
  3. Experience in the telecommunications or infrastructure industry is highly desirable.
  4. Experienced within a B2B corporate setting.
  5. Strong understanding of marketing principles and the ability to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns.
  6. Proven track record of engaging with government entities, local authorities, and industry bodies.
  7. Familiarity with telecom regulations, policies, and industry trends.
  8. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and impactful messages.
  9. Strong copywriting skills for creating thought leadership content, press releases, and policy submissions.
  10. Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, media personnel, and industry leaders.
  11. Experience in lobbying and advocacy efforts to influence policy decisions.
  12. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
Benefits:
  • An estimated salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • 30 Days Annual Leave + 8 days bank holiday.
